It is with a heavy heart we inform you of the passing of Cal Fire Butte County H.E.M. Andrew Brake. He was involved in a traffic collision this morning while assigned to the Carr Fire. Our deepest condolences to his family and the Butte County and Monterey / San Benito ranger units. It has been a devastating year for line of duty deaths. Please be careful and watch each other’s back. We push ourselves to the limit but need to recognize when it’s too much. Please be safe.
