He was born in Michigan to Melvin and Teresa Brake, but spent the majority of his life in Chico, CA. Andrew graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in 1996. He went on to complete the Mechanics Program and Fire Academy at Butte College. Andrew was a loveable and easy going man who enjoyed being outdoors doing his favorite things like quading, camping, and riding his motorcycle. His fire career was served with hard work, love and dedication in Humboldt, Monterey and Butte County. He will be remembered as a hardworking dad with a great sense of humor and tacky T-shirts. He made his family and friends know they were loved without even saying a word. After years of working out of the area, Andrew was ecstatic to get a job in Butte County as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. This allowed him to be closer to his two daughters and still be a part of the career he loved. Being a Part of CAL FIRE was his dream.
