The California Fire Mechanics Academy, Inc. Board of Directors is proud to announce the inception of a new program designed to assist individuals with expenses related to attending the academy. These scholarships will be available to anyone meeting the established criteria.
Matthew R. Will Memorial Scholarship
Matt Will was a 30 year old heavy equipment operator with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection who died October 8, 2007 as a result of a bulldozer rollover while battling the Colorado Fire in Monterey County.
This scholarship shall be awarded annually to any individual interested in attending the California Fire Mechanics Academy. Selection of the recipient shall be made by the Board of Directors of the California Fire Mechanics Academy, Inc. and shall include tuition and textbooks. Travel and hotel accommodations are not included. Anyone interested must contact the CFMA administrative office for the instructions, application and detailed selection criteria.
Donald Wisinski Memorial Scholarship
Donald Wisinski was a former President of the California Fire Mechanics Association Northern Section and a long-time member of the Education Committee of the California Fire Mechanics Academy, Inc.
This scholarship shall be awarded to a member of the Northern Section of the California Fire Mechanics Association. The scholarship will provide academy tuition and textbooks. Selection of the recipient shall be made by the Northern Section Board of Directors or their designee. Anyone interested must contact the Northern Section for instructions, application and detailed selection criteria.

Eugene Robeson Memorial Scholarship
Gene Robeson was a founder of the Southern Section of the California Fire Mechanics Association and was instrumental in astablishing and supporting the California Fire Mechanics Academy.
This scholarship shall be awarded to a member of the Southern Section of the California Fire Mechanics Association. The scholarship will provide academy tuition and textbooks. Selection of the recipient shall be made by the Southern Section Board of Directors or their designee. Anyone interested must contact the Southern Section for instructions, application and detailed selection criteria.

Vincent Morello Memorial Scholarship
Vincent Morello was a fire mechanic for the City of New York for twelve years before being hired as a FDNY firefighter. He served with Engine 283 and then Ladder 35 in Manhatten. Vincent made the supreme sacrifice at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
This scholarship shall be awarded to an individual who is NOT a resident of the State of California. Selection of the recipient shall be made by the Board of Directors of the California Fire Mechanics Academy, Inc. It shall consist of covering tuition, textbooks and the out of state tuition fees. Anyone interested must contact the CFMA administrative office for the instructions, application and detailed selection criteria.
